The history of National Taichung Nursing College (NTCNC) began in 1955 as Taichung Vocational Senior High School of Nursing when the school started to offer a three-year nursing program. The midwifery program was added in the following year and the school was renamed to Provincial Senior High School of Nursing and Midwifery. In 1962, the school offered a four-year high school program which was later revised to a three-year program in 1980. In February, 1990, the school's name was changed to National Taichung Vocational Senior High School of Nursing. Based on the beliefs of Florence Nightingale, the founder of nursing, we aim to cultivate advanced nursing professionals for the 21st century. In 1997, our school purchased a parcel of land located in Nantun District of Taichung City to be our future second campus site. Finally, on August 1, 2000, our school was promoted as the National Taichung Nursing College. Since that time, the college has offered a five-year program and also a two-year program. Dr. Rou-Hui Chen became the first president of our college in the same year. Another two-year college program for working nurses was added in August 2001. Dr. Shieu-Ming Chou became the school's second president in February, 2005.In 2007, a two-year Beauty Science Program was launched to replace the two-year Nursing Program. Our beloved president, Dr. Shieu-Ming Chou, has been devoted to the field of nursing education and clinical administration for over twenty years. Her main goal is to educate NTCNC students to be excellent nursing personnel so they will become invaluable assets for our society. The School Motto Kindness, Love, Honesty and Respect
